Had to do this myself, could get an extra key either. Actually broke the inner part of the key trying to break the lugs loose. Pound a 12 socket on the lugs and spin them off like described earlier. If your careful about swinging a 5lb. sledge then you wont f up your rims at all. But good luck getting the socket off of the lugs after you spin them off, its a S.O.B.

Take it to any tire shop and they will have a master set of keys for locking lugnuts, it's really not that big of a deal.

I had to have mine removed- the key was gone. I tried the ford shop around here and they didnt have anything that fit- trust me, i tried. But mine arent ford rims either. Anyway, i beat a socket over them and was able to get 3 off. The last one wouldnt budge. I even tried to heat it up and got nuthin'. So, I took it to a mech and they cut the lug bolt off, put on a new one. Done in 20 minutes and cost was very cheap. I had aftermarket (univeral) chrome wheels on mine, with 2 different lug patterns. Good luck

but with a shotgun, you'd better use slugs, cuz if ya use shot, you stand the risk of puncturing the tire.

I had this problem when I bought my 97 Maxima used. Luckily I still had the original owner's contract in the car with a phone number on it. I called him and he sent it to me. I would go back to the dealer and ask if they had any info on the person who traded it in. They might be able to call the person and see if they still had the key.

I had this happen at Vo-Tech on my 95 Cobra...Tire went flat. I only had a jack and a 4-way. Luckily there was a body shop and they had a huge mallet. So I used one of the ends the was barely to small and beat it on there. It worked but good luck getting the lock out of the 4-way.

Use some sodium and water. Nice little bang might loosen it up.
