Default A day at the Thunderbird

This isn't really 4.6 tech related, but oh well

I was glad to see a couple other members out there, I had a blast.

The track wasn't prepped very well (I need some excuse for a .8 second increase in my time [8D]), and no one seemed to be doing too well... When I spin easily with a 2000 RPM launch and half throttle, something's wrong...

I got one good pass with the nitrous on a 75 shot, my time was 14.6ish, at 99 MPH... I bumped it up to 100, and couldn't break 14.8, my speeds were dropping back down to 96-97... I ran out of nitrous. Held up to the (slightly less than) 100 shot pretty well, didn't need to back the timing off two degrees.

Last fall I ran a 14.2 at 97 MPH, factory everything pretty much... I've upgraded my brakes (to cobra brakes all around), and upped to 18x9 chrome saleen wheels for the front (265/35-18 tire), and 18x10 in the rear (295/35-18 tire)... I've added a lot of rotational mass, but I can't imagine just that raising my best N/A time by almost a full second... best N/A was 15.0 @ 96 MPH, that was with powershifting.

It was a LOT more crowded than I had imagined it would be, last time I was there, it was me, and two track-only firebirds... a whole three people Anyway, any other members that were there (maybe that I didn't meet) share your stories for the day here!

Edit: Many pictures/videos to come soon... possibly tonight.

14.6 with nitrous? ya thats bad... i ran 14.4 with no launching, no burning out, a pinging engine, catback, and a cai.

Sorry you had a crappy time at the track.

spinspinspinspinspinspinspin describes it pretty well... I couldn't find traction for the life of me... check here for a bunch of pictures of the day and some explaination as to the bad times...
