Mach 460 + Subwoofer??
I saw the write-up for installing a sub and amp to the stock Mach 460 audio system on Mustangworld.com, but it was a little to vague for me. I'm pretty good with instructions but I couldn't keep up with that one.
Does anyone know where I can find a good write-up? Or can someone explain it to me?

Well I'm sure you need an amp too, but according to the "how-to's" on www.mustangworld.com it can be done.

I have a 2000 Watt Orion 12 inch sub, with a 1500D watt RMS MTX amp. I pulled all wires and hooked it all up myself. I have the Mach 460 system with the factory 6 disc CD changer. All of the power, ground, remote wires you will hook up like any other system. You will need to buy a converter for your audio cables. The converter isn't much, I think like $40. Anyways the converter will make like a jumper on your rear factory speaker wires and convert it into the "red and white" audio cables that go into your amp. I'm not quite sure exactly which wires I connected, but I know they were exposed in my trunk under the speakers. It actually sounds incredibly good. I'll try to go out there and take some pics of all the connections I made.

I'm planning on adding a sub to my Mach460 as well, just like how that mustangworld writeup suggests. Where did you get your remote-on wire signal for the amp?
Someone said don't bother sticking a sub into a vert cause you won't hear much of the bass anyway.. so I'm gonna stick a couple 10's or 12's into a custom box & stick it in the back seat. THAT I should hear no problem

the spefic cables u are looking for are called and inline converter which can be pick up at any local best buy or audio shop for about 30 bucks. they tap into ur rear speakers and give u output RCAs. then u take the rcas plug them into the conver and run them to the input side of the aftermarket amplifer. rember to find a constant source when wiring up the amp because the REM or (remote turn on wire) needs a constant 12v source which is normally found on an aftremarket amp. and since u dont have one the fuse block hay be of some benfit to u.

I removed the radio and jumped from the original REM, and wire for the radio. I figured If I ever want to get an aftermarket CD player, thats 1 less wire I have to pull. Any 12V power source that comes on and off with the ignition key.
