Default Cant get my timing below 16-18 degrees

Hello everyone - I have some excessive pinging on my 03 GT, so I figured I would retard my timing to help things out - at least temporarily. However, using a Diablo, I cant get the timing below 16-18 degrees. I even retarded the spark advance via the Diablo to the lowest setting and it still is at 16-18 degrees. On acceleration it will pop to mid-high 20's.

Any ideas what would be causing this?

I dont have any codes (yet).

how long has it been doing this? you probably need to have a proffesional tuner tune your car.

Its been doing this for about two weeks - ever since I got my MAC Prochamber installed (I am assuming coincidence).

I agree about the pro-tune.

you need to adjust the a/f richer if you are getting detonation. and you also need to get to a dyno to check your a/f

With the new prochamber, my guess is an O2 sensor problem and a/f mixture.

That's weird i have mine set all the way up on my diablo tuner try putting the stock back on it, then do the performance tune again it sometimes takes a bit for the comp to get used to it.

+1 Very possible you have a problem with the front O2 sensors. They have to take them off the old exaust and put them behind the Prochamber. I wonder if they broke one or hooked them up wrong.
