Default Which Headers to get?

I have a 2000 gt stock
only Mod is dual flowmasters 40's
want to get headers to get better airflow resulting in better MPG!
I don't want them to be loud thou just provide good air flow to the flowmasters.
Thank you guys for your help!

ceramic coated long tube, end of story, cept you'll need matching mid pipes, X for power, H for sound, cats if you need to pass inspection, off-road if you don't.

BBK ceramic long tubes are a good deal, but mac long tubes are even cheaper. They're only 330 i think, but you will need a new mid pipe. Rember, x is more horsepower, and the h is more torque.

how is the H more torque.. and X more HP?? HP is a directly affected by Torque. In fact the mathimatical calculation is

HP = (TQ x RPM)/5252

that's why your TQ and HP curve alway cross at 5252

The H pipe creates more backpressure which keeps mid range torque higher. The x frees up alot more, and sees more hp up top.

I'm still confused... cuz if your mid range TQ is higher on an H pipe than your HP is also higher, and if your top end HP is higher on an X, than you TQ is also higher. Correct?

For strictly gas mileage purposes, shortys will be fine, but if you are going spend that much money and go through that much trouble for 2-3mpg MAX, I would say just get pullies, and a CAI. Pullies alone will give you the extra 2mpg.

when you change the headers shorties give you a hp that up higher. you torque curve also gets moved up in the rpm's but you lose some. same with the h-pipe which i run. both change where the hp and tq curve come on. in actuality theres really not much difference 3-5 max. the x-pipe helps with scavenging pretty much taking the exhaust from both side and equaling them out in where they cross. the h-pipe makes it so that it balances the 2 but not equal. it doesnt pull the exhaust equally out of both sides. at least thats what i believed someone please correct me if im wrong but i think i have the basics down.
