Default Sorry I never believed you guys!!!!!!

OK guys. If you've kept up with my past few posts I've got some news for you. As you know I am the most "4.10 hating" person in this site. I've always thought of 4.10's as a "drag strip car". Well last week I ordered my 3.73's from Mustangtuning.com and to my suprise I got 4.10's in the mail. Well.....this must have been an act of GOD. Holy crap I LOVE THESE FREAKING THINGS!!!!! They are ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like I expected them to be! I can run 80 on the interstate and still pull only 3000 RPM's. These are extremely strong in 1st-4th, but 5th gear is like normal. Anyways I was breaking them in today and I happened to see a LT1 Z28. Well as you guys probably know....I wanted to see what these new gears would do. As I tried to pull up beside him....a heavily modded 5.0 notchback blew my doors off. With my adrenaline pumping I went after him. I passed him like he was in reverse and later stopped at a gas station with him. He said that he wanted to run a couple times from a stop. With almost 100 miles on my gears, I decided to do it. We ran a total of 4 times....2 from a stop.....2 from a roll. That must have been the biggest embarrassment I've ever seen in a car. I must have had the guy at least 10-12 car lengths when I hit 4th gear. They guy couldn't believe his eyes. He accused me of using Nitrous until I popped the trunk and let him see for himself. Anyways to make a long story short.......I WOULD RECOMMEND 4.10'S TO EVERY 2001+ MUSTANG OWNER. TRUST ME YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!! Thanks for all the good advice guys!

Not yet. I'm still trying to get used to the 4.10's. Hey I got a question for you guys. I hear a lot of people complaining about traction problems. I have stock Bullitt wheels and 275 Kumho's on the back. When I raced that 5.0 I didn't dump it in 1st, but I did in 2nd. In 1st and even 2nd I only got a little chirp from my tires, nothing in 3rd. The 5.0 driver was even asking me how I hooked so good. I had 245's with my stock gears, but now with my new gears and 275's I can hook just as good as I did before. Is this normal???

Hey XKON. What the heck are you doing to pull a 12.9??? I think the RPM difference between a 2001+ and a pre 2001 is only like 200 RPM's. I think a 390 in a pre 2001 would be the same as a 4.10 in a 2001+.

Are you sure they weren't in-fact 3.73's? I am curious because I am looking at gears myself.

It all depends on your launch of course. My 245 eagle ZR45`s spun, but not as bad as I thought. I did chirp 3rd gear every time though. Once you learn how to drive with the 4.10`s, you shouldn`t have a problem hooking up. Sounds like your doing pretty good so far. Now im running goodyear eagle F1 GS-D3`s on my 10.5" wheels and these things are great. Very little spin. Awesome for a street tire.

No I'm absolutely sure they are 4.10's. I checked all the part numbers and the mechanic counted the teeth on the gears. They are genuine 4.10's.
