Exhaust leak?
+1. Hew Twig, I know you just had headers put on and the h-pipe. I would guess it would be an exhaust leak. Just think about how the exhaust would heat up as it gets hot. Probably expanding a bit when hot and creating an exhaust leak. Could be right at the header flange. Generally a ticking noise is a good indication of an exhaust leak, especially since you just redid you full exhaust.

I had to go back 31 pages to find this thread but the problem has been fixed..

Only reason I dig this up is I have noticed alot of similar threads as of late about strange noises..

Well I had the car in to get some mods installed and it was discovered my tensioner was bad.. A $79 part.. My car only has 9,000 miles and this part went bad already..

Maybe this will help someone who has a strange noise..

that's odd. That sucks you are out of the warranty in the time sense, not milage.

glad it was something simple, because in theory doing burnouts doesn't really hurt an engine so long as you let it warm up first and stuff

is it true that the only thing that's bad about burnouts is the tires?

Yah you gotta be careful these 4.6 motors are really weak they will bust at the drop of a hat... Ford shoulda stuck with the 5.0's for sure.
