Default are convertible suspension systems different?

i love that lowered mean look
however when looking at springs some are
labeled as "not for convertibles"!

can anybody shed and light on this subject?

Yup, convertibles weigh less and thus they use different spring rates. Thus if you have a convertible you need to get suspension designed for a convertible.

i thought due to a more flexible body they would have to strengthen the chassis? therefore heavier!

actually convertible weigh more(100-200lbs), and they come with sub-frame connectors to prevent twisting the frame

Ya, verts are heavier. I wish they were lighter or as light as coupes, but that's not the fact.lol
