I too have heard a very mild (stage 1) cam and wasn't extremely impressed. After hearing this, I am leaning towards the stage 2's, because someday I would build the bottom end, and they sound like sex at idle.

So if I were to get stage 2 cams what kind of work am I looking like I have to have done? Do have to have all this other work done b4 I get the stage 2's?

It's reccomend that you have 3:55 gears or better, full exhaust, and full intake mods to get stage 2 cams, or any cams for that matter. As far as the install goes, it's the same as stage 1's, except you have to change the valve springs.

Springs, 3.73+ Gears, 2800+ stall (if automatic), Must be tuned after install.

Sound clips should not be your selling point. Trust me, you need to hear it in person. The cams I heard, you have to have your ears right next to the exhaust to even hear the idle. If you want a big idle, go with stage 2's.

Thanks for the help. Looks like I have a ways to go b4 I get my cams. O well, that's the fun part.

that sounded sick... and with the blower that has to feel like a different car

if i get cams i'm probably going stage 1 just to gain some punch and keep the idle near smooth, and I'm not going to radical. we'll see...

Stage 2's move your powerband way up the rpm range. That means to get the full effect of the cams you have to rev your engine up to about 6700 RPM. On a stock GT you can not rev that high and even if you could you would be asking for trouble! In order to rev that high safley you would need a built bottom end with new valve springs. Stage 1's work perfect on a stock GT with the power range between 2500-6000 RPM. Plus you dont need new valve springs.
