i can't comment for the manual cars...but with my V6 Auto...the difference between the heights with the brake and gas pedals is really distracting...mine has about one inch of slack and i swear the brake pedal is higher than normal because i feel like i have to move my foot back like 4 inches to hit the brakes...it is really annoying
Same problem with mine (until I did the mod), and it's an manual 04 GT.

Heel toe driving reffers to keeping your right heel down on one spot and rotating the right foor to push either the gas or brake pedal with the right toe.

So how do you take the slack out of the gas cable do they make something for that or what?

it's all in the stickies up top. it's a do-it-yourself mod that basically makes the gas pedal stay in a different position instead of an inch below the gas pedal.

what i noticed most form the gas pedal mod, was the throttle response was incredible, due to the TB opening much faster with the tighter cable, its kinda hard for me to go from a dead stop with out shooting forward. Thats what the gas pedal mod does for you, its great for launching during a drag aswell. Whooped a '93 LT1 camaro ...............its all in the launch baby!

Not really -- Heel-toe downshifting means using the heel of your foot (or sometimes the side of your foot depending on pedal setup) to blip the throttle while keeping the ball of your foot firmly on the brake pedal. This allows you to raise the RPM of the engine to match the drivetrain speed duringa downshift.

LOL! Yes sometimes.
When you're entering that 120 degree hairpin at 80mph -- you might want to bring it down to 40 or so so you don' t go flying out over the edge of the cliff like Wile E Coyote...

Read the article I linked.
