Default procharger?

Hey guys, I am interested in purchasing a procharger. I have a few questions that might clear up some things. Will the stock internals and clutch be able to handle this? It says a 45-50% hp increase. Also will this void my extended powertrain warranty? Should I go with another supercharger? Paxton, or vortech? THanks.

Matt

I'm looking in to getting one too and they say that along as you run around 8 psi the stock internals should be alright, but I would put forged internals on my list as next thing to get after you get the blower.

you are going to need a new clutch as soon as you put the procharger in. You can run a procharger on stock internals but never want to push it, keeping it around 400 HP. I like the prochargers because they are intercooled and show some good HP gains, I will be getting a procharger over the others...

Somewhere around 400HP is where you want to start thinking about forging.. 2000GT4.6 et al. know their s%it when it comes to s/c.

depends on how much you wanna spend? New, I would get the procharger (although you cant beat that kenne bell whine), you get more bang for your buck (intercooler and such). I just picked up a used vortech system (seems like i am telling that to everyone, sorry) cause i think they are a bit more durable. I have nothing to base that on btw, just like to hear myself express my own opinions. I am concerned about a clutch as well. Hope to put out 400-425 and then i will be a real a$$ when i drive! Get the Fu*k outta my way!

I bet you have some paperwork that explains your warranty. I would say you will loose the warranty on the motor for sure with a s/c.

Dude anything short of midepipe back rims and cai will void it. Esp since long tubes are essential for your supercharger prety much full exhaust which will void it so adding 200 plus hp to a car is gonna void your warranty. Thats why i am waiting one more yr for my procharger and yep i am goin procharger and i heard 10 psi is fine to run but thats it i am looking for 450 480 horses thatll make me grin.

it doesnt "viod" your warrenty. But if you take it in to get fixed and the supercharger relates to the problem then they woulnt fix it. If your dome light dies or your cd player takes a crap they cant blame the supercharger so they will have to still fix those items.

Don't worry about it if you go 1 to like 5 hps over 400... Save about 100 dollars a day for the next 50 days... or 50 dollars a day for the next hundred days.... And you'll have enough to get your motor built to handel all that power and then some. Hell those are my plans. Stage II or III Racing clutch. O yea, from my personal experiance with mustangs and blowers.... 3.73s are good enough. But thats just me. 4.10s are too much on a blower car.
