haven't you guys heard if you have bigger tires on the rear you are always rolling down hill so you get better gas mileage.

18s are fine on a mustang. i have them on mine, and i could not feel a difference, i put my 17 inch rim with the tire on it, next to my 18 inch wheel with the tire on it and there was only a 1/4 inch difference. the 18 inch tires have a smaller sidewall on it. if you go to a 19 or 20 inch rim then you might feel a slight difference. but there is no difference at all with 18 inch wheels.

Gotcha. I didn't think that small of a diameter would matter much. Especially after looking at that orange car here. Some of the old school cars though, with that *** end up on stilts....

That's a bit too much. Not only is it absolutely horrible for traction(unless you using drag shocks maybe and slamming the *** end down really hard), but the brakes suffer too.

ive seen mustangs with 18s in the rear and 17s up front and it sits level. not really raked. but i know what you are talking about. i think that look, only looks good on 60 and 70s muscle cars

front brakes are doing most of the work anyway, when braking the weight transfers forward so the front brakes are doing most of the work have

So if i have 17x8 chrome bullits all around, would it be fine to just buy 2 deep dish 18x10 for the 2 back tires. (Also all my tires are 275/40/17)?

You don't have to buy bigger rims to lift the rear end, just buy bigger tires for the 17's.

17's are stock so if you go +1 to 18's or +2 to 19's, all your going to get is more wheel and less sidewall. The diameter will be the same so there should be minimal height difference.

If you want to jack the back, put some 60 series meat on your 17's...but that should look pretty much like shat.

This might be a dumb question and it probably is, but would that not mess up your odometer?
