I do not know if it is necessary but I always unplug my battery let the computer get refreshed and then hook the battery back up before starting. I believe it helps the computer adjust instead of it being confused by the different air flow levels.

I did the CAI TB and PL at once on my GT. Professional products for the TB and Plennum and an ebay generic CAI that is all chromed. I noticed a big gain in power and throttle as well. I do recommend getting the larges filter you can fit on the CAI so you have more air coming into your induction. My TB and Plennum were about $150 total on ebay from BlueOval. I highly recommend doing this upgrade. When i had my 3.73 gears installed the power was tremendous. My buddy is my tech as well (master tech at a dealer) and when he was breaking the gears in he had all good stufff to say about the induction as well. He of course told me that the change in the intake manifold would = about 20+ easy HP and 30lb torque with my current setup. I started to drool. Then of course it became the pistons, cylinder heads, crank...

Not sure about you all, but i can't date, cuz i dump all my $$$ into my pony... best part... my pony dosen't bitch, talk back.

Cost: Too much for the benefit on a stock 4.6.

If you're blown, you MAY notice a difference, but the stock TB is adequate. Don't expect to pick up any power, but you may feel a little bit more throttle response... also, this is made more useless without a plenum to go with it. A TB will be around $180, little less for a plenum, just look around on parts sales sites, they are easy to find.
Huh. The superchargers I have been looking at say to put the stock units back on. I have the Accufab plenum and 75mm TB and there was more than a "bit" of throttle response gained. I have not had the car dynod though, so I do not have raw numbers.

It depends on the company who makes the blower. With a Vortech kit I see for sure that since 90% of aftermarket TB/plenum combos are in the same spot as factory, you can use any aftermarket one you like. Larger TB/plenum = more flow... but the factory unit is adequate if you're N/A.
