in the quarter for an automatic, is it better for the overdrive to be on or off?

Yes, in a quarter mile you should never come close to shifting to 4th gear overdrive. No power in that gear anyway. The only way you would use that gear is just at the end of your run with something like 4.56 gears.

hell the only time i use my od is when im on the freeway to save on gas. for performance, always leave it off

even if you had 4.56 gears, you're tranny wouldn't shift into o/d at WOT.

I think we've come to the conclusion that o/d on or off doesn't matter if you keep the pedal buried because the tranny won't shift into o/d at WOT
