Default My Dyno Sheet...

Based on my last Dyno Results, where would the best point to shift be? Everytime I go to the track I always take it right before Redline and shift but now as I actually look at the results, I'm thinking.... Well all the HP and TQ seem to be dropping after 5000rpms, Especially the torque. Notice the large gap difference between the two. THe torque maxes out at around 4400 rpms and drops quite rapidly after that but the HP Maxes out at 5000rpms and kinda steadly decreases.

You would need to go try shifting at different RPMs and see where your RPMs land in the next gear and if you would be making optimal power still in the next gear, or if you would bog it down. Try shifting at 5500 and just see where your RPMs are in 2nd gear after the shift, see if it seems to bog down at all, etc.

**disclaimer** I am not some kind of pro-racer, I am just using what bit of knowledge I do have about how cars operate to make a pretty good guestimate.

Immmma need a camera guy with me on that.... Its like the hardest thing for me to do is pay attention to the Tach and drive... I've notice that after I shift say from 1st to Secound.... It drops from around 6000 to 4000.... Maybe.... I dunno. Gotta go check, lemme go and give her a run down the street real quick. Hope my neighbors don't mind.

See if you look at your chart...4000 RPM you're making decent HP and just about to reach peak torque. When to shift has more to do then just when your power starts to drop off.

Exactly. You will lose more time if you shift early and don't start the next gear in the right RPM range.

This is especially important if you have modified any part of the drivetrain (lighter/smaller flywheel, aluminum driveshaft, etc.) as parts that make you rev quicker also make you lose rev's quicker. If you don't hit the next gear in the right range, you will fall on your face by bogging.

Get a Raptor shift light.I have one and it improved my shifting and above all else,SAFETY.You don't have to look down at the tach when you should be looking at the road ahead of you.
BTW it works perfectly.
