if you have problems with the oil on a k&n, you have much deeper issues than your car. you should probably go back to pre-school and just start over.
if you want to save $$ for other mods, just buy a k&n drop-in filter.

While at the speed shop today I had a long talk with the tech about this subject. First off, anything metal used as an intake is no good, heat saturation robs ponies. Second, the short ram air kits, do the same, pull in air from the engine bay which is worse than your stock intake, whether its plastic or not. The best way to go is the K&N FIPK II, or any similar plastic intake that draws air from the fender well. Now the difference is minute, 1-2 HP at MOST. So if your willing to give up that extra power for a chromed out engine bay, its your call.
