AEM Brute Force Intake
I have a friend at a Nopi store here in Atlanta from my ricer days that can get me a AEM poslished Brute Force intake for $130.00. Does anyone have this intake? I had AEM on my Integra GSR and it actually made a difference but that car was heavelly modded. Is this a good deal, I meen $50.00 dollers less than my other choice JLT.

eh.. I kind of regret buying one.. I didn't feel a difference, didn't get better mpg, and could have used the near $200 for something better (gears?). But I'm stock, so your results may be different..

buy the K&N part # 5725193 I have it on my website autopartwarehouse.com for $200.32. Thats the one i got and its great. the only problem i see with the chrome or aluminum intakes is that they get pitted and rust after a while, unless you clean them all the time. The black plastic you just take some armor all to it and it looks like new again.

Whoever says they felt a difference in power from installing an air intake on a stock car is lying to you.
If I were you I would just put that money towards gears. Intake isn't worth the money unless you have other mods.

I have one and like it. The upside to the AEM kit is you don't use oil to clean it. It uses a soap solution and is a dry filter as opposed to the oiled K&N. You don't have to worry about getting oil spray on your MAF from over-doing it. Just water and the soap solution is all you need. Also a very easy install and I am very non-mechanically inclined.

RE: AEM Brute Force Intake
While at the speed shop today I had a long talk with the tech about this subject. First off, anything metal used as an intake is no good, heat saturation robs ponies. Second, the short ram air kits, do the same, pull in air from the engine bay which is worse than your stock intake, whether its plastic or not. The best way to go is the K&N FIPK II, or any similar plastic intake that draws air from the fender well. Now the difference is minute, 1-2 HP at MOST. So if your willing to give up that extra power for a chromed out engine bay, its your call.
