Default Engine Swap!!

Holly crap!! Some of you may have read my preious thread about my crank pulley wabbling and causing vibration. Anyways I took it to the shop and they checked it out. I guess the keyway on the crank was cracked and there was a piece missing! So the thing was just bouncin around in the shaft. Anyways, I have a warranty for this kinda stuff so the tech called the people and told them what was up. In the end, it would of cost over 5k for them to rebuild the engine with a new crank, soooooo, I'm getting a new '99 or '00 4.6!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!!!! Talk about the best day of my life!!! Just had to share.

I figured it was catastrophic.

Good luck and enjoy your new engine! Are they giving you a new shortblock or an entire long block? Usually these dealer bought warranties, they will get you a low mileage used engine rather than buying a complete new shortblock.

Hopefully you get a low mileage PI engine or a new PI engine.

Well the shop said that it would probably be a low mileage used 4.6 from a junkyard or salvage yard. He was going to try and get the best motor he could tat they would allow, so we'll see how it goes and hope for the best!
