I think exhaust is a great first mod, but a lot of people are going to tell you to go with gears first. You'll probably see better gains with gears. With that being said if you do go with exhaust you're on the right track. Definitely go with LT headers because Shorties are worthless. If you are set on BBK, I would rethink that at least for the mid-pipe. BBK mid-pipes are VERY raspy (my buddy had one on his 98 GT and I thought it was really obnoxious). Personally I am looking to Bassani or Magnaflow for my x-pipe and I would DEFINITELY reccomend getting a catted x. One because it is still legal and two, they just sound better in my opinion. For the cat-back, I don't know much about BBK but I have Magnaflow and I love it. Everyone has their own opinion about the exhaust though, brands that will come up a lot are SLP, Magnaflow, and Flowmasters. If you are interested at all in saving some money on labor costs, the x-pipe, and cat-back are relatively easy projects to take on yourself. Just cut out the old and bolt in the new. Personally I would pay to have the headers installed because that isn't quite so easy. Those are just a few thought, and good luck.
1. Funny, I have a BBK o/r h-pipe for my midpipe and it is not raspy at all. But what do I know, I just have one on my daily driver.

2. Have you ever installed headers? I did my BBK LT's myself and it took about 14 hours, but it saved me $500 in installation costs. It is not that hard, just time consuming. If you want to do it yourself just PM me, I have a full write up on the installation procedure for LT's.

i just got my new exhaust. high flow catted H pipe and slp LMI catback. everything plus install ran me 700. i think you shoudl be able to add LT's on there for 800, and if they are more than that....are they really worth the money?

www.texashotrods.com

BBK LT's ceramic coated for $490
BBK o/r h-pipe for $130

LT's and midpipe w/ shippine $640 to your door. Def worth it IMO.

490 for LT's is a price that is definitely worth it. i was just saying that if you can't find them for less than 800...buy something else

WOW, u guys are so helpful....This is a great Forum!
I think that i should go to the shop, tell them what i want and have them look at it and give me a quote. Like i said before i like the price on the BBK products but im still open, who else makes headers that are good quality? Im pretty sure im going to get flowmasters but i dont know wat headers and mid pipe would be a good pick. Does anybody have a estimated power increase a full exhaust will get me? Im pretty eager to make my stang as fast as the stock 99-04 mustangs...I also know that later on im going to get a intake,

PS:you guys are great, i appreciated you helping me.
