Mach 1's and cobras are very nice cars. But the GT's are a GREAT car in there own right.I have gone to many car shows and talked to ppl who own Mach 1's and Cobra's.Many of them tell me the same thing. They wish they had a Gt for the fact It could be there DD.Yes Its not fastest car out there but Its a v8 Mustang.Remember Ford wanted to replace the mustang with the probe[:@] so be happy

If in 2004, Ford gave the GT 300 hp (say $25K) and the Mach 1 305 hp (at 28K? I don't know), the sales of Mach 1s would have suffered greatly. Same for the Cobra. Personally, I got my GT new for 20K in June '04. I'd pay that much now for a used Mach 1.
Now that the new GTs have 300 hp, the Mach 1s are gone from the line up. Anyone want an '06 Mach 1 with 305 hp for an extra $4-5K? Not many. I think to make a new Mach 1 viable in current market conditions, it will need 360-375 hp in order to sell well enough.

keep in mind everyone, that the Mach 1 doesnt come in convertible. the #1 reason I got a GT. The mach 1 and GT convertible were both in my price range, and I never for once regret my choice. I think the mustang looks 100 times better in convertible, especially customized. id rather have that satisfaction everyday when i see my car, rather than an extra half a second off my 1/4 mile once every 2 months. I dont think the people here race enough to be able to really complain about the 1/4 difference.
