Running Rich???

My '96 GT seems to be running rich based occasional exhaust smoke and every once in a while I have the slight smell of gas inside the car. EGR valve?? I did have a 1443 code come up, which i believe is emission something or other.

P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System - Vacuum System - Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve fault

Did you check if you had any leaks in the exhuast system? Any Ticking noise?

No leaks in the exhaust and she seemed to be running fine, as no ticking noise

Faulty FPR? Faulty injector? Vacuum leak?
