Default 98 GT vs 99 GT

Some kid want to race me in his 98's non-PI GT. He has full bolt-ons, 3.73s, and some nice tires. What kind of power does that put down. I was thinking that since i have a 99' I should blow him out of the water.

what do you mean by full bolt ons... and from your list of mods, he's gonna get his a$$ owned. It'd be like me trying to race you lol. The only thing really doing him any good are the gears, but from what you have listed there alone, sounds like you'll stomp him.

more detailed list of mods and specs would be needed (auto, stick, etc) to give a fair answer but you do have the upper hand being PI

with your heads and if your bolt-on's are truly full you should take it home I think, is he blown or bottled? If not you have him

Ask him if he was just joking because that race would be hilarious , unless hes P&P PI swapped as well.

3.73's...lol.
But, with you having 3.27's amd stock(ish) tires, he'll have you off the line most likley. It depends how long you race for.
What power #'s are you putting down? I've heard Patriot horror stories to beat the band.

With full bolt-ons, 4.30's, and 275 nitto's, I didn't fear any N/A GT's.... PI or not, wasn't an issue.

i went to the track out here and raced a 98' GT, i have a 00', at the time it was stock, and as far as i could tell his was too. now, i have AOD, his car was 5 spd, on the launch, he had be by about 1/2 to a full car lenth, and that boy was shiftin like a *****..... but in the end, i pulled away slowlyand beat him in the 1/8th by a full lenth. i'm not a good race driver, but i'm sure you'd have that guy, as long as he's not juicin or got a turbo or SC.
