Default Prochargers prone to problems?

I am looking into what supercharger to get when I return from deployment. I was looking at vortech and procharger. Only procharger has a kit that keeps my shaker functional.

I have heard that procharges have problems with teh self contained oil unit, the head unit (in the s/c) locking up, blowing the boost pipe off...

Are these isolated cases, or consistant issues? I was looking at the D1-SC supercharger, which claims to have an 80% increase on stock power ( aprox 530 rwhp)

Ya got me, Ive been looking at procharger but I havent heard anything about reliability issues. That doesnt mean there isnt a problem of course but I would be interested if anybody has some info on this topic... also if the d-1sc actually produces more hp per # of boost...???

Prochargers are my goal in the near future. I've never owned one but I have driven....... KB GT, Procharger GT, and Vortech GT. Although they are not Mach 1s, I must say I was thourghly impressed with the Procharger. The procharger guy still lives in the neighborhood and so far I've never seen any problems that he has. My only gripe is..... It just dosn't really have a noticeable "whine" to it. Not as much as that KB. I love that noise. Some I talk to want to be more discrete about the power adders that they have. Me I just love that sound. You couldn't really tell with the procharger, especially if you have a nice sounding o/r exhaust set up. At an idle, can't hear a thing, normal cruise, maybe just a little from inside the car and if you were close and the car passes by. But yea, all in all he hasn't had any problems. He goes to Temple once a week and does about 5 or 6 runs down the quater, and he uses it in everyday driving in a crowded area with lots of stop and go traffic. So far I think that blower has about 9000 miles on it, give or take. Not a single problem. Follow the instructions and the maitain your octain and maitence levels and she should be fine.
