If i had the extra money i would definitley P&P my heads, but 160 bucks for underdrive pullies in order to reach 280hp is more in my budget at this time. This is kind of stupid, but 280hp sounds so much better than 275hp! lol. Pullies sound like the way to go for now, then later on down the road new heads and intake manifold.

Do you have a sound clip of your car?

Did you use a tuner to get rid of the oxygen sensors or did that come with the sct tune?

You have you're car pretty much they same way I want mine, but I will toss a 75 shot on afterwards.

Hey guy's, i just got my cams installed and maxed out at 275hp and 308tq. Im happy with the torque number, but want to get the hp number at 280hp+. What is the best way to get to 280hp considering the mods i have in my sig? I also do not have the 3:73 gears installed at this time, so that will probably increase my torque a bit more. I was thinking steeda underdrive pullies, what's your thoughts?
replace the shorties with LTs and you will make at least another 10 HP. I am willing to be the shorties are not making more than a few (2-3) horsepower.

You loose numbers when installing a higher gear ratio, but it should not be enough to really notice or matter.
Replacing the headers with LT's would be a waste of money for 10hp.
I said at least 10 WHP. I am betting its more like 15-20. Several people have been putting down right at 300 WHP with just cams and boltons lately. The 4.6 tuning with camshafts has come a long way in the past few months.

Gears and flywheel will not increase you're horsepower. They might change your power curve or help you get into your power band sooner but just think. If you put your engine on an engine dyno....are gears and flywheels even going to show up? Nope. With the exception of pullies, the only way to make more horse power is more air, more fuel, bigger cubes or altering compression.

Pullies would be your best bet, if you can affort LT's then go for it. Enjoy!!

From what i have picked up from guys like code03gt and 2000gt, the more aggressive the cam,i.e. Stage 2 and Stage 3, the more HP you get, but on the downside, if you don't get your bootom end rebuilt in order to handle the more aggressive cams, then you will only be using about half of what the cams offer in terms of HP. So in other words, if you have a butload of money to spend on your car, then go with VT Stage 2 or 3 cams. If you want good power increase you can use without having to empty the bank account, then Stage 1's are good for 275-290 rwhp depending on your mods! Hope this helps a little.

But since he is on a chasis dyno and not an engine dyno, the entire drivetrain is resposnible for the loss of hp from the crank to the wheels. While a flywheel will not add horsepower, it may decrease the amount lost to the stocker. Just like the underdrive pullies won't make hp either, they just give back a little of what was being lost to stock components.
