I had a similar problem with mine.
It was really bad, anytime I was just maintaining speed, it would kind of lope, or jerk softly.
I replaced my MAF sensor and it cleared up. But that was at 135,000 miles.
Thats just my experience, probably not the case with yours at 65,000.

Mine does the same thing, seems to happen mostly under moderate load and coolant temp below 160 degrees.

I cleaned my IAC and thought that it cleared it up but it either returned or never actually went away.

How much can I expect to pay for a MAF sensor?

if its jerking and its an auto more then likely you need a tune up
plugs
fuel filter
clean/replace air filter
clean/replace IAC
oil filter
change oil

Has it thrown a code yet. Also, a lot of driveability problems are caused by the plugs, we've had quite a few cars come in with similar problems and it turned out that they put in some NGK's or Bosch etc etc, for some reason these motors seem to really like Motorcraft plugs, good luck.

check to see if you have a loose spark plug wire. It will arc at higher rpm's but not at low throttle low rpm situations. also it will be most noticable at light throttle heavy load ( 5th gear on the highway)

good luck

if its not that I would definately check the plugs.

after a DIY tuneup mine did the same thing and all it was a loose spark plug wire...

hmm, ill check into the plugs, i have the coil on spark system so i dont have wires. I need to find out how to change the plugs on that kind of system since im use to the regular spark plugs and wire system. Does anybody have experience with it, and is it difficult?

I just did it on my newly acquired 99 GT vert. Took me about an hour or so, with basic hand tools. I'm at 86,000 miles, and after I replaced the plugs the engine ran much smoother, and revved MUCH better than before. Throttle response was better, and that for me anyways made it easier to rev match when I downshift. Now all i have to do is get rid of that pesky throttle hang and i'll be happier diving this thing.

you mean the throttle hang as in how it stays in the rpm range when you downshift or let off the gas? that's normal, and you probably shouldn't change it. There was a part that was mentioned that would fix this "problem" but it had negative side effects. the RPM's hang for a reason.
