Default Heard something interesting....

My wife and I just bought a new Explorer. We drove her Jetta and the Mustang to the dearlership. A tech heard my exhaust and asked what mufflers I was running. Long, boring story short, he said Ford can void any warranty work if a Mustang has Flowmasters. Just Flowmasters. Anyone else heard this?

I agree with you. I asked him if that was an out for them to not have to warrant any work. All I got was a shoulder shrug.

When I first got my car I asked the service tech if I would have a problem with my warranty if I changed my catback and he said I would be fine as long as I dont touch anything before the catback.

he's probably just jealous that he doesn't have aftermarket mufflers on his car.

pretty much anything that changes an emissions related part will screw with the warranty. mufflers and tail pipes have nuthin to do with emissions, just sound and a few horsepower.

Will a short throw shifter void a warranty?

It should not, but if you go back to the dealer for work just put the stock one in to be safe. Usually if they deem the aftermarket part caused the problem it gets voided.
