Longtubes Worth it?

Longtubes Worth it?
Okay, I recently hit 275rwhp AND 308wtq with the mods in my signiture minus the gears. I have been told i will gain more hp with longtubes than with my shorties. I believe this is true. My question is, how much more do you think i will gain with BBK L/T and VRS O/R X-pipe? Also, how much torque will i lose down low with L/T's as opposed to shorties? Roughly the same or more? I putting the gears in this weekened so im not overly concerned with the torque loss. Thanks guys.

Since nobody answered your question, I will. It would be a noticable gain to go from shorty's to L/T's. Since shorty's don't do much to begin with. You will gain in both the hp and mostly low end torq. I'm venturing to guess.....10hp and maybe 10-15ft lbs. of torque. I noticed a huge difference after installing my L/T's when I go from 10mph and punch it to 40mph. The pull was excellent. It made the 5 hour install worth it. Not the busted up knuckles though. Your gaonna have a fun time, although your shorty's should come back off no prob if they are aftermarket. Your gonna have a little trouble getting the headers in place. I lifted the motor about 2 inches, one side at a time(quite a bit of extra work, but it made the installation and tightening of the bolts easier) I installed the BBK ceramic coated. Before installation, I ground out the inside of the flanges on all tubes where they touch the head. This was to make the flow of exhaust better. I just ground down a 30* angle on the insides
