Stripes
So I havemy racing stripes from Baltimore street mods, it comes with instructions and seems straightforward, here is my question :
Is this a do-it-yourself install, I mean, wash the cars and lay down some stickers, seems easy enough?.
Or should I have a shop do it to make sure they line up properly, etc. I was thinking about doing it this weekend, any suggestions?
Thanks,
E.

RE: Stripes
As long as you take your time and line it up perfectly, it'll be simple. Make sure the surface isclean and a little wet so you can adjust it if need be, and maybe use some bar soap to make notch points to keep you on track. Just dont rush it. Take a break if you need one, because vinyl is a b*tch to remove after it sets.

RE: Stripes
I've never put on racing stripes, but I did do the vinyl tint on my tail lights. Use a spray gun with some soapy water so if you get a little off you can re align it without it getting stuck. At first with the soapy water the vinyl won't stick, but when you squeegee it out, it will stick. Take your time and make sure you have a clean surface.

just a couple of sugesstions::
as mentioned above...
1) definetly take your time.. if you get tired or frustrated step away for a sec.. get a drink and cool down .. then continue when ready..
2) definetly make sure the area is clean and use soapy water to spray the area when you apply the vinyl.. like sonicpilz mentioned.. the vinyl will not stick at first because of the soapy water but that will allow you to move the vinyl around on the car and line it up to where you want it.. but as the water dries and/or you squeegee it out it will stick very well and you will not be able to move it at that point so it better be where you want it by that time.
It's not hard to do but it does take patience and attention to detail.
