my 2nd gear syncros went out about a month or so ago, after 3 weeks, new syncros, blocking ring, 2nd gear and throwout bearing, i finally got the car back, the mechanic doing the job for me took it for a spin, came back and pulled it back into the shop, got out and told me that 2nd gear was still clashing when you try to put it in, he said it could be the forks are bent but when he had it apart he thought they looked fine and in tact, this guy is trustworthy and knows what hes doing so i belive him, so i drove around a little bit and you can get to 2nd but you bassiclly have to "find" it, you cant do a normal shift, only by easing it will it go, but also, as i mentioned before, the brand new throwout bearing is making a noise...im completly stumped, any one with the slightest clue of whats going on??

must be in the air...tranny problems anybody? i'm thinking it is a bent fork also...

The noise might be the pilot bearing, you should have him replace that while it's apart again... Also while it's out have him put a new throw out bearing too... Good luck

lol, the thing is that it was already a brand new throw out bearing he put in, i have no clue whats going on, i just wanna be able to hit 2nd again real soon its gonna blow when he has to take it back again bc he does it on the side and can only work on it a couple hours a day

I know you put a new throw out bearing in it, but a bad pilot bearing will make the same noise... Put a new pilot bearing and throw out bearing in when you re-do everything... Don't cheap out now, or you will pay for it in the long run.... Just so you know, I had the same problem when I installed my clutch, it kept making noise even with the new throw out bearing... When you do get them, make sure you get Ford products, don't use aftermarket stuff... Good luck...

thanks man i need about all the luck i can get, lol, but yea, i got all my parts from the dealer, tranny is way to important and sensitive to cheap out on
