I have to call it like I see it... It would be awesome to
have a Mustang at 16/17, but since you said you will have
to start saving for college soon, I say wait till after your out
of school. You will need something reliable to get you to/from
classes and an older, possibly modded stang could nickel and
dime you to death. If you do get your stang, that's cool too.

I just don't see how your parents wouldn't help you out with a car at all...maybe they will get you a car for your senior year in high school? Just start saving up for now and don't rush into buying this mustang that you want. By the time you are a senior in high school, you should be able to convince your parents that you need a car and show you were responsible enough to save up money to make a down payment on one so you could get a nice car. In fact, it doesn't necessarily have to be a mustang..ehem* LS1

I'm 20 yrs old.. still in school and always wanted a pony car.. I worked 2 jobs all last summer about 65 hours a week at a advance auto and a KTM dealership. You can pay for a car and insurance is cheaper on my mustang than it was on a 4 wheel drive tacoma. Look for a 99 up... you'll sink lots of money in a 96 - 98 just to catch up. I'd def look for a 5 speed to... and don't rush into it.. find the one you want.

go with a 96-98 cobra. Although you think the body style is worse, the engine makes up for it. You will run better times than a 99-04gt, and be able to make RPM through the entire band. redline begins around 6800. 4V>2V
