Seafoam and its uses
 

Ok, I have read about this seafoam on here...what is it good for, also how do you apply it so that it can do the most good. My GT has 100000 miles on it and anything would help now.

from what i hear it's some pretty good stuff, it's supposed to clean the carbon and crap out of your engine and make it run a whole lot better. all you do is take the vacuum line off the plenum and let it get sucked in a little at a time. i haven't had the chance to try it though since i can't find it in my area

Disconnect the vaccum line. I modified a hose and connector and just dumped it in the can of Seafoam. Let the car suck it in till it dies or the can is empty. Let it sit for about 10 minutes. Fire it back up, it may take a moment to start. Once you get it started, keep it revved to about 2500 to 3500 RPM's. You will get a nice smoke show. So you may not want to do it at home if you live around lots of people. Also change your oil once you do this.

Now I'm not sure if all the smoke is simply the interaction of the fuel with the chemical make up of the Seafom, or actually the carbon burning off the motor. I just figured it could not hurt. Have fun!

So where exactly do I need to add it to. I picked up a can, and the guy at O'reillys said that if I put it in the crank case then I need to drain it or it will effect my bearings on the bottom end, and I just changed the oil 50 miles ago and changed the plugs back then too. I don't want to just waste these new additions, but I also want to fix my carbon issues. What do I do and how do I do it?

make sure you give it a good revving, even up to 5k. youll see most of your smoke action up around there. got to make sure you get it in everywhere.

But again where do i put it in and where is this vacume line i need to put in the bottle.

the line off to the right of the IAC, pull that hose, pour about half the can in a cup or something and feed it in there with a straw....the vacuum should be strong enough to suck it right up

you're feeding it into the plenum not the line itself and you might want to have a buddy keep the car above idle because it might die when you start feeding the stuff in

Itll work better if you measure a third of the cans liquid. Put it in a glass, and stick the vacumm (SP?) line in there and just let it suck it up. Then run car for like 10 mins and let it smoke away!

try getting a funnel and putting the funnel into the tube that runs into the plenum. i did mine this way and its a lot less messy this way - less chance of spillage.
