no man, pull the drive shaft out. and you will see there are two places it hinges. each place (there will be 2) is a U joint. I think my front one is bad and both are goin too

okay guys today I'm gonna jack up my car and yank the drive shaft and see what's going on. If my joints are bad my car will be on stands for a day or two because I will have to get to my buddy's house, he has a press to put the joints in and out, I'll let ya guys know because maybe I can save some other people's cars if they have a similar noise

didnt read it, but you have to remember its a mustang not a lexus...gonna have some noises

well dude I just took off the drive shaft and the front U joint is SHIAT. one way swivels smooth, the other has a TON Of resistance and makes this sickening crunch/grinding/squeak. So I need U joints

i just called my buddy, i'm gonna drop the drive shaft and new u joints at his house and he's gonna put them in for me while I am at work (he has a press)

so anyone have weird drive line noises CHECK THE U JOINTS

this one was literally probaby like 50 miles from exploding all together

Id say check all your bushings. The car is almost 10 yrs old. Hell you might even wanna lube em up with some silicone lube. Also you might wanna crawl under bang on the exhaust with a rubber mallet or your palm, maybe some heat sheilds have come loose or something.

i know sorry I was in a stressed mood as I typed this cuz i Just got done rippin out the drive shaft. The front U joint like I Said is complete ****. One pivot direction is smooth, I move it the other way and it is tight as hell and makes a sick grinding sound, the exact noise I was hearing but quieter. I bought the "brute force" heavy duty u joints from autozone and dropped all the stuff at my buddy's house, he has a press he will use to put them in while I"m at work today.

I guess doing practice 1/4 mile runs takes it's toll on original u joints??? haha

okay dudes well my buddy put in the U joints and I reinstalled my drive shaft and it works beautifully. No more random noises. We went to this strip mall area and there was a long emtpy parking row in the lot and I laid a hugggggeeee patch through 1st gear on it with no driveline noise. Was very happy.

Now on to my valve guide seals and my stupid anti theft system.

Good man...Ya my new clutch is doin awesome got about 230 miles on it so far...Ya I have a bad squeaking problem when im turning left hard or back out left. But I think its just a bushing nothing major!
