Default Suspension Components

It's time for the next stage of the car, now that I have most of the basic bolt-ons. I want to do the brakes as well(need replacing) but it looks like the front Cobra calipers are on backorder at quite a few places that I like to shop. With that in mind, I'm moving onto suspension for now and will get the brakes ordered as soon as they are back in stock.

I want to get the car lowered with better shocks/struts. Maximum Motorsports had some great articles I read a while back that explained a lot of the things that were needed for this and some great tech stuff. Their website has been redone and all that is blank at the moment. I'd like to order the things I mentioned, and anything else that I would need to go along with them. Here is my list of stuff so far, anything I've forgotten please let me know or add your input if I could get it cheaper elsewhere. These prices are via Maximum Motorsports (except control arms).

H&R SuperSport Springs: $229
Bilstein Shocks/Struts: $621.89
Granatelli Control Arms: $170

Those two things are the most basic components needed for lowering the vehicle and better handling. Along with those, I could get isolators, caster camber plates, and pinion snubber. I'm not sure if those are really needed. The drop is 1.6"-1.75" according to H&R's website. Another thing I was looking at was just getting the Starter Kit from Maximum Motorsports for $1100 which would include the Springs, Shocks, Pinion Snubber, Isolators, and CasterCamber Plates.

Curious on your thoughts. Thanks!

i have the springs in, the shocks waiting to go in and going to order the c/as. Do you (we) need all the stuff in the starter kit? I am going to put the upr/lwr arms in and the shocks and go from there.

I have steeda aluminum lower control arms, ford racing heavy duty uppers, steeda rear sway bar, eibach springs, tokico gas shocks and struts, steeda aluminum 4 bolt caster/cambers (set to agressive street) and my car handles better than any car I have ever driven. I can take corners like you wouldn't believe. Turns I took at 40 I now take at over 50 and I have plenty more I can go I just do not see the need.

Looking to find out information on the required parts to a lowered vehicle, whether it be Caster/Camber Plates (for a 1.6-1.75" drop), pinion snubber, spring isolators, or anything else. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything that might be necessary before I order just the springs and shocks.

i dont agree. anything more then 2" you need c/c plates other wise your gonna wear your tires unevenly, anything less then 2" just get a alignment done on your car and you will be fine. my car is dropped close to 2" and i just had it realigned and its only 1 degree off of being perfect. but if you got an extra 250 around go for it

You can get mm cc plates from stangsuspension for like 180 shipped after the discount. Id say do it while youre in there and be done with it. Seems like some people are fine without cc plates and others need them; so you're going to get conflicting opinions. If you want peace of mind and have the extra cash just get them. They'll only help.
