So it seems like he should go with LMII if he goes with SLP? bassani and borla sound awesome but I think there more then he wants to spend on exhaust
I would. Bassani is WAYYY to quiet, and Borla is only nice if you have the Stingers, which are a lot more $$ than the LM2's which IMO, actually sound a lot better anyway.

SLP is truely amazing, gives such a nice sound. Do it and tell him he will NOT be disappointed. I cannot get enough of my setup.

I wanted LOUD, LOUD, and ... LOUD. And thats what I got. At WOT my car rips like a motorcycle, yet still sounds like the most aggressive stang you have ever heard.

The LM2's have a "better tone" than the LM1s. They are deeper, and a bit quieter, but carry a more "normal mustang" tone.

The LM1's are just simply LOUD AS HELL (with my setup especially) and carry an unorthodox tone... with my setup they rip and have a choppy sound to them, yet are music to my ears...

LM1's simply sound like nothing you have ever heard before.

From what it sounds like though, your friend will be more than happy with LM2's for a more refined, deeper sound.

I will have a video up of my car this weekend if you want to let your friend listen or something, but I would say LM2's for him.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: oh and yea, the flowmasters are NOT stainless steel. IMO, they look and sound inferior. SLP is stainless and the tips are 3.5', which anyone even who doesnt have SLP will tell you look amazing.

SLP FTMFW!!!!!! just got my o/r h-pipe on today... stock midpipe, the lmII's have a good deep sound and very refined, but when coupled with the o/r pipe, they are PLENTY loud, esp. at WOT, my gf doesnt like it cuz its loud and scares her now....hehehe... under low throttle, it sounds pretty quiet and normal, medium throttle kinda choppy and has that rapraprapraprap to it, but wot, it sounds mean as **** and LOUD, plenty loud to get u into trouble and bust a nut in your pants

Honest unbiased opinion... I really like the way the slp lm1 and 2 sound. My personal favorite is the Borla stingers though. They are a little deeper and have a bit more snarling beast kind of sound down low[sm=badbadbad.gif], but when you jump on it you get that nasty big block roar that all of us slp, stinger, and magnapack guys love. I was origionally going with slp lm1's for my cobra but the day I went to order them, I found a nice barely used borla stinger catback on ebay for a few hundred bucks less than sticker so I jumped all over it. I've loved every minute of them... moral of the story imho go with slp, borla STINGERS, or magnapacks for a much more rich and sinister sound than any chambered muffler can give you. Unless of course you like the chambered mufflers
