Default T-45, rebuild or buy new

My T-45 is really starting to slip. Should i try to rebuild it, or just flat out replace it? I don't really have the cash to drop anything crazy like a tko 600, but am interested in upgrading. Any suggestions??

you have installed the new clutch and she still slips when enguaging into gear? Might be a problem with the syncros, how many miles you have on it?

If you have the time to rebuild it that would be an option. dont expect it to be a fast process if you have not done it before. I have had help from my dad on this project. im becoming and expert in pulling it apart and putting it together and mines only been broke once
http://hanlonmotorsports.com/T45.html has a kit to rebuild it
http://www.promotionpowertrain.com/ will rebuild it. think its 900 bucks for them to rebuild it, will take 2 weeks, but you get it back capable of handling 750hp. but will need a different clutch. or they can rebuild it capable of 400 and you use the same clutch you have.

I dont see the transmission slipping honestly. see the clutch being the problem, but you already replaced that. and see the posi being out and you doing a one wheel spin
transmission would be more if you broke a fork and its not going in gear, or it grinding and a synchro is gone out.

here is more info on the stuff I got emailed from hanlonmotorsports when I was checking on what I was doing. I got individual part prices from promotion also, but it was on a scratch peice of paper.

179.95 kit includes the synchro rings, seals and shiftfork pads, kit 2 279. is everything in the first kit plus all of your brgs and races. kit 3 375.00 is all the small parts in the tranny. These kits are an upgrade if your car is 96 to 99 they have the upgraded synchro rings. you can purchase the upgraded shiftfork 1-2 28.80 and 3-4 36.40.
the tremec tko 600 is 1725.00 plus shipping , you can reuse your 31 spline yoke as it is the same stock bellhousing is 285.00

all I had to do was replace the 3-4 shift fork and had to pull almost everything off[:@]. the broke one came out with out a problem]

I dont have the instructions I used here, there back in my dad's shop back at home. only been able to work on it on the weekends. feel like its been broke longer than it actually has.

i rebuilt my T45 and just put in synchros and seals, all bearings were perfect. (had my trans expert neighbor have a look at them)

Only thing is, when I got the countershaft out (with 1-2 and 3-4 synchro hubs on it) I unfortunately had to pay a trans shop to press the hubs on and off because I have no press, other than that it's a doable project.

It all depends on what you want to do with your car really
