Pulled a shift fork out of my trans oil drain
[:@] Why? I power shifted from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 a few times about six months ago. Shortly after that it had a little problem where it would not go into reverse for anything, took me 15 minutes to get it in.
Ever since then it almost always grinds when I shift into fifth.
It's never been shifted hard into fourth or fifth.
Wouldn't you think this shift fork is from the reverse/fifth fork?
But why would that one break?
BTW it was only a piece of a fork about 2" long, had to fish it out with mechanics tweezers. The car still drives great if you baby it into fifth. Still power shifts good into 2 and 3.

If you gotta stock tranny that your powershifting with than I wouldnt worry about it, cause your gonna have to replace it soon anyways. Might wanna consider gettin a stronger one.

I miss the days of having a super t-10 in my nova, forged steel shift forks, nothing could break it.
I don't plan on driving my mustang like that though.
