Broke my antitheft lug nut?

RE: Broke my antitheft lug nut?
Ya, any parts store should have a set. MacGuards are probably one of he best known in the industry. By the way, if anyone out there ever loses their wheel lock key, I saw a slick way of getting the locks off at a garage many years ago. My lock actually broke (stupid spot welded design of Ford) so it became useless to remove the locks. The mechanic thought for a while and hooked up a blunt chisel to an air hammer and worked that lock right around in a circle. All four came off slick and clean. Of course I had to buy another set of wheel locks but the guy was nice enough to temporarily put on four extra wheel lugs he had laying around until I could pop for the new locks. Worked for me.

When you do get new wheel locks don't torque them down near as tight as you do the other lug nuts. Take it to fingertight and then turn it one more time. Anymore than that you may not be able to get them off. Remember it uses little tiny bumps and ridges not some big beefy thing like a regular lug.

RE: Broke my antitheft lug nut?
Take a socket just a little bit larger than the size of the locking lug nut you are trying to get to... Then hammer the socket onto the lugnut and use a ratchet to get it off..
