if you stop downshifting to first it shouldnt get any worse. you dont ever have to jam 1st so your 1st gear syncro will be fine if you dont downshift to first when moving more than a few miles per hour. Its something that could wait id you can get it into 1st, but if its not going in and its a pita, then get it fixed.

ANd you know what..... Your right. I just got my car dynoed again today. Different conditions however. Back in November it was around 38 degrees outside and I let her cool down in between dynos.

Today I put her on the rollers right after a two hour drive from San Antonio and did 3 dynos back to back. Average air temp was in the mid 90 degrees with high humidity.
Here are her numbers:
1st run: Max HP = 247.04, Max Torque = 273.51
2nd run: Max HP = 249.06, Max Torque = 277.28
3rd run: Max HP = 249.01, Max Torque = 279.73
4th run: Max HP = 249.09, Max Torque = 280.04

So yes due to the conditions.... I am short 6 Horses and short about 10 torque.... :-( Thanks for the ego bomber..... *sniff* *sniff* lol.... Its all good man. I know alot of people ask me that. I'll update my sig.

Well its all about the sheets.... I posted my dyno sheet on here once I think. It had my 256 on it. O well. Again I go by what I last dynoed. And those where ideal conditions giving the temperature and plus I let the car sit for about 30 minutes between runs. Today it was just non stop run run run and it was hot as all hell today. Along with a 2 hour drive from SA. Oh btw... The are shorties... I forgot the mention that on my sig. Ford Motorsport Racing Shorties.... And they don't seem to bolt onto any midsection that I've come across without a little fabrication.

Still some decient numbers dont ya think? 249 rwhp just about 280 torque?

my transmission doesn't let me shift into first while moving above a certain speed...I thought this was standard....and I can't imagine even wanting to downshift into first...my neck would snap

well, seeing as how i just went through the whole tranny busted to hell and back deal, i can give you some estimites lol, if you have the 3650 tranny, syncros from a dealership are aroundn 130 a piece, labor to get them put in...well thats gonna be around 600, and if you start grinding gears to get them to go, well, just skip that gear bc then you are gonna be not only replacing syncros but the blocking ring as well, and thats around 160, and if you super lucky like me, once all the **** gets put in, it still wont work lol, so now its back at the shop and thinking that it was a defective 2nd gear blocking ring, which has a 12 month warrenty on it luckily(thank god that i am having mine done onn the side and not paying dealer cost)
