wouldnt a diablo tuner just do the trick for the tranny shift timming, etc...?
yes it will change the shift timing, and can firm up shifts a little.
but the shift kit will make shifts extreamly hard and nice when you're on it.

And there are people like me that have 3.73's and are extremely happy with them and don't want anymore.
true...but there are more people that want more or are more satisfied with the 4.10s
there are more people that are happy with 4.10s than people who are happy with 3.73s

Another question... When im doing say 40-50mph, and my rpms are low, and i step on it, it takes a second or two for the car to actually down shift into the appropriate gear, will the tuner help with that too?

hehe great story reminds me everytime why i bought a 5spd but for ET races id rather have an auto cuz they can run the same ET all day long.

Tuner + 4.10s. should be able to beat him no problemo.

If your decide later on to go with a s/c or do sum serious head work in increase hp then yea you will def hav some traction problems with the 4.10s but as long as your going to stay pretty much stock or jus a few bolt ons then you'll be fine and love them

And if you went with a s/c or something what gears should u go with?

Can you get a diablo tuner and a shift kit to have the best of both worlds?

the tuner will help your shifts alot but for throttle response (assuming you dont have any mods right now) would be a CAI/ 70 or 75mm throttle body and plenum. As soon as i punch it now it goes. I know exactaly what your talking about and it was annoying as hell

Why do people worry about 4.10s and gas milege....you bought a mustang....you gave up good gas milege the day you took the keys

Where is this information coming from? I would like to see statistics on this since you seem absolutely sure.

...also, Lazr, you don't have enough power to reach your top speed so you definately won't notice any decrease in it.
