Default 5.4 Swap

Is the 5.4 swap really worth it in a 97 Mustang Gt non PI.

Not if your going to make it a NPI 5.4. If you going to do a pi swap and a set of cams or f/i like I'm going to do then I think so. Plus it's something out of the ordinary.

i have a 96 GT with a PI 5.4 its a lot better then a NPI 4.6 that for sure. im taking the motor out soon because im getting a new car. the motor has just over 6000 miles on it rebuilt (2000) im selling it for 1700. +shipping. it would include the hood that fits. cowl with a SVO scoop(just barly fits) and a SCT tuner thats made to tune a Npi 4.6 ECU to feed a PI 5.4. so just let me know if you are intrested. i have the whole right up also of how i installed it and what was needed .

Would the 5.4 swap be better than a procharged 4.6? Thats my big question.

i have a 1999 mustang with a 2002 ford lightning engine in it and that thing is a torque monster. it makes 400 rear torque at 2000 rpm's ( open for questions if you want to know how it went, i did all the work myself )

The 5.4 is basically the same as a 4.6, but stroked out. Thus, it makes a bit more torque, but no real major HP gain over the 4.6. A S/C 4.6 will always outperform a N/A 5.4 mod for mod dollar for dollar.
