I got a 96 GT, what should I revv up to when I'm launching and when I launch should I dump the clutch or feather it? Also at what rpm should I shift?

i launch at 2500 RPM's .. but each car is different .. make sure the car doesn't bog down when you dump the clutch
try it a few times on a back road like Thunder said

When racing my H-D,I like to feather the clutch with wide open throttle.I have tried feeding power and clutch to keep wheelspin to a minimum in my GT and found this to give the best "seat of the pants" acceleration(I haven't raced it yet, only 1700mi).Dumping the clutch is good for smoky burnouts and fried tires, but does little to lower ET's.The method with the bike has won many races against crotch rockets because they want to wheelie and usually will let off the gas instead of pulling in the clutch, and by then it's all over. The key is horsepower management ,max power to the ground and stay in control of the power.
