Default A Debate on Carbon fiber...

Ok, so I'm looking to do some more mods to my 00 Roush and was thinking about switching out the hood with a carbon fiber hood. The thing is, before i drop almost $400 on a hood, I want to know how it looks. So basically, I'm try'n to figure out if anyone has any opinions on how carbon fiber hoods look on a 2000 and better yet if they have any pics.

Thanks

many people do stuff to their car just for looks. yadda yadda weight savings, but it wont help. If you want to do it, go ahead. I think a cf hood is kinda ricey. I used to have a civic back in the 90s and it had cf everywhere, it looked good cause cf wasnt very popular then. Do what you want but dont be surprised if people think it is ricey. 400 will also get you a snow performance methanol injection kit, hp > looks any day.

Yea, i gues the CF could look kinda ricey... my original thoughts were that it'd be different, but i want to see if anyone else has pulled it off... maybe i'll just switch it out for a different hood and paint the damn thing... I'd still like to see if anyone's put one on their car... anyone? lol

Ignore the haters, carbon fiber is not rice, its used all over the racing world and you will benefit from the weight savings.

Still not convinced?, go look what the saleen s7 is made out of, or go here : http://www.seriouswheels.com/ and look at what pretty much EVERY supercar is made out of nowaways.

Lighter allows you to make more use of the HP you got, thats why we have rear seat delete kits, carbon fiber hoods, trunks and body kits.

Methanol injection must be the 'in thing' now.[&:] Everyone's doing that.

You should get the hood, and then paint it but leave 2 strips of CF for racing stripes like the new Challengers, that looks cool

carbon fiber has shaved 278 lbs on my race car. and i bet if i showed you pictures you wouldnt be able to tell me which peices are carbon fiber.

everything but the roof, doors, and bumpers are carbon fiber.
