Default Spark Plug Question

Hi

I just bought a 01 Mustang Gt.

I just found out it is a Bullitt. It my Hayes manual it covers from 94-01 mustangs and I cant find out where the spark plugs are at on this thing.

Can someone help me out and let me know what I have to do to find the spark plugs on this thing?

Also what should the gap be on the spark plugs? 0.54-0.56 or different?

Thanks,
Chris

IF IT IS SIMMIULAR TO MY 00 GT THEY SHOULD BE UNDER THE COIL PACKS. THERE ARE NO SPARKPLUG WIRES. THE COIL PACKS ARE NEXT TO THE INJECTORS. THE PACKS ARE HELD DOWN BY A SMALL BOLT TAKE THAT OUT THEN REMOVE THE COIL PACK AND YOU WILL SEE THE SPARK PLUG

Ermmm... Falllow your plug wires to the engine. Then pull them out. Down in there is the spark plugs. get some NGK or Bosch Platnium plugs.

99-whenever do not have typical Spark Plug wires. Coil-On-Plug....

Look at your fuel rail, should be somewhat shiny, it runs along the inside of the valve covers. Underneath the fuel rail are 4 cylindrical objects w/ 2 wires coming off.. I think they're Green and white. There is one retaining bolt that holds them in place. Unbolt the bolt, and wiggle the C.O.P. off the spark plug. Do this carefully. Now you should be able to see down the spark plug well.

Use some compressed air, or something that can force out the debris in the bottom of the well, to ensure nothing drops in the engine while you're doing so..

As for gap, I can't remember...

the gap should be on the little glued on papers under the hood. Like the ones that show the belt routing. Otherwise if you can't find out you could go to Autozone they will tell you!!

dude go to the tech forum at the top of the 4.6 page and look under spark plug installation its fairly simple, its easiest to do with a 6 inch ext. and a swivel, imo. oh and i recommend brisk premium plugs- 4 lobes to electrode no gap to worry about, 50 mag dynoed a stock stang and picked up 1.92 hp just from a plug change, you have to order themoff web though!

How many miles on the car? ford recomended change interval is 100k miles. I have an '01 and I have checked different plugs at various mileage and they are always perfect so at 70k miles I still have the factory original plugs. If I were you I read up a little on plug blow out, where and how to apply anti-sieze to plug, full and partial threaded plugs and torque specs for plugs. Changing plugs in the 4.6 isn't as casual as it use to be. By the way the gap for stock Ford-Motorcraft AWSF-32EE is .052". Good luck.
