We are buying new wheels next week for our 96 cobra..thinking of 18x10's or 17.9/10's with some fat meats on the rear (up to 315's). What springs should we go with to drop it a little? I dont want a rough ride as I've had a few back surgeries...just want to give it a better stance w/o the 4x4 factory look. I've seen some springs for sale in the catalogs and most exclude 'cobra'..why is this? I know the 99+ are IRS, but the 96? Shouldn't it take the same ones as a similar GT? Also, how much drop should I go? Will stock shocks/struts be ok? only 50k miles on the car...

Eibach pro kit sounds like the drop for you, and no the 96 cobra does not have the IRS. As far as shocks and struts go, it's all up to you. It's not required with the pro kit, but it is suggested.
