How many miles do you have on your Mustang?

RE: How many miles do you have on your Mustang?
00redGT... I wouldn't make that generalization!
It also depends on driver style. Most of these cars don't last 150,000 miles b/c they're driven real hard, real fast, and traded away when they start to lose perfromance.
If you're looking for super-reliable, goes on forever engine...then you don;t want a V-8... let alone a sports/muscle car w/ a V8.
Moral of the story: It's all about maintinance! Buy it new, baby it, and it's good to go for a LONG time!
P.S. 57,000 miles on mine and doing great!

I've got a 2003 GT that I bought with 2 miles on it in October of 2002. It's got 29,000 on it now and never a single problem except the damn radio! I drive my car a LOT, and she still runs like a dream; no problems. Just gotta watch that Mach 460 radio and its tendency to choke on CD's...

That's interesting. Over on the Ford Ranger and Ford Truck forums, it was common to see people claiming over 100,000 on their trucks.
I agree with Acer2428's point. The Mustangs are generally driven harder than pick up trucks. That's the main reason I won't consider buying a used one off a lot.

My 98 Gt has 36,000 on her. She runs great, only problem i have had is a throw out bearing. At my garage we have a customer that has a 95 GT, with 301,000 miles plus. Its only been in the the 30, 60, 90K mile services, a fuel tank, fuel pump, battery, clutch, and a heater core. So if you take care of them and dont beat them they will last. The guys old and doesnt beat his. On the other hand. My dad beat his 97 cobra, and now both the heads have ticks comming from them, the tranny is junk, the throw out bearing was replaced, the clutch also, all 4 tires, strutrs leaked, both front wheel bearings, the shift **** broke off ( Thats my bad ) the clutch pedal rubber fell off, he curbed 2 of the rims. Anyways, it has 67,000 plus on it and he drives it like a crazy man. It all depends on how you treat it

My 99 GT 5-speed has been great. I just got it in february with 27,000 miles on it and its got 29,000 on it rite now. i bought an extended warranty when i bought is so i don't really care what goes wrong lol. I haven't had any problems whatsover with it and the previous owner bought it new and just drove it in the summer...never has it been in snow or rain. I ran a carfax on it and its never been taken in for warranty work or anything else. Its been a fun car.

1996 GT - 120,000
Other than routine maintence...
1) Had intake manifold (plastic) fail aka blow apart at about 50K. It was a unannounced recall issue and was repaired for me.
2) Had to replace the coils and plug wires at about 60K
3) Turn signal switch broke about 70K
4) Needed new struts at 90K (also the bushings are worn and hardened. I need to replace them, in the cold the car clunks around)
5) Now 120K the ignition switch is going bad
Other than these issues it has been a good car. I got 100K out of a set of brake pads with relatively hard driving all the time. It does eat spark plugs and they have to be replaced about every 12-15K miles.
