Tranny Issue

Tranny Issue
Recently, I replaced the stock clutch in my 4.6 99 GT with a CenterForce Dual Friction clutch. The flywheel was resurfaced, new pilot bearing and throwout bear were also installed. Once I got the 5 speed tranny back in all seem to be okay... after about twenty miles of driving, I could no longer shift into 3rd or 4th gear. Actually, I can upshift to 3rd sometimes....say 1 out 10 times. Never 4th gear.... there is grinding like the clutch isnt engaging; the grinding when trying to shift into 4th. 1st, 2nd., 5th and Reverse are normal.
What could possibly be wrong. There was no problem with shift into any of the gears prior to the clucth replacement. I did the work with a friend of mine.. It was a tough job removing and reinstalling the tranny. I sure as heck would not want to pull it out again. I done some surfing and found that it could possibly be the synchronisers. Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions?

RE: Tranny Issue
Did you remove the shifter when you pulled the trans, might be something amiss on putting it back in. It must be installed correctly and maybe you missed something. 3rd and 4th are the same synchro and thats what has me wondering, good luck.

RE: Tranny Issue
from exp. in the ford trannys breaking, PRAY its nothing with the internals and its just something you did while putting the shifter back in, cuz if its somethinng inside, buy a new tranny, cost almost less than fixing the old one

RE: Tranny Issue
Yeah, I did remove the shifter when I pulled the transmission. There did not appear to be any adjustment for the shifter. I simply removed the 4 cover screws and removed the shifter. When I reinstalled the transmission, I just reversed the procedure... sat the shift into gear box and secure the top with the 4 screws.
Since experiencing the inability to shift into 3rd and 4th gears, I have removed the shifter a couple of times to ensure that it is well seated in the mechanism. At this point, I am not sure... Please anyone with any suggestions on this issue.
