It's only bad when you get on it. You could easily stay out of boost atound town and it won't have any significant impact. On the otherhand, I can almost garauntee that you'll have a lead foot after getting one. It's way too fun to mash the pedal.

I will be getting a vortech sq (at least thats what i want right now) by the end of the summer or next spring at the latest. Anyone have any recommendations on where to order from? 2000GT4.6, I remember you saying that you loved yours, where did you order from?
www.modularpowerhouse.com

I highly recommend these guys. Great customer service, excellent and very complete kit, and the best part is the tune they send you in a SCT Xcal 2. I have never seen a tune that was so dead on right out of the box.

Edit: Here is a direct link to the kit that I got:

Thats exactly what I'm looking for. Now I just have to save up the money. Boy I cant wait.

2000GT how much PSI are you running? Do you recommend the MPH 4" inlet tube?

I hit 10 PSI right at redline, on the average race 9 to 9.5 PSI.

I would have gotten the powerpipe if I wanted to make any more power, but I am scared on the stock bottom end. On a stock cams car I would definatly run the power pipe.

I've actually got forged rods and pistons so I should be fine.

Is there anything else you bought that wasnt included in the kit?

The only extra things I bought were a few tools I needed and a brass fitting I stripped out.

The kit has everything you need to go from n/a to supercharged.

MPH > All

BTW, even on the stock rotating assembly a stock engine car should be fine with the powerpipe. With my cams I am just making enough power to keep me happy. I like the idea of a little cusion

You should really look into a forged crank. With the ported heads youl have and a nice set of custom blower cams you could really make some power

I'm getting too excited about this. I am going to go ahead and finish off my suspension first. Then I will get the mongoose kit in the spring and some nice blower cams. Did you install it yourself? I'm pretty sure me and friend could get it done.

I had a shop install the cams, and I did the blower install in my garage.

If you are going to get cams call MPH and talk to them about some custom grinds. With your ported heads etc you should see some pretty good gains.

IMO if it came down to a new crank or the cams though I would definatly get the crank. With your heads and a new crank (assuming your pistions/rods are strong enough) you should see 500-550 with the blower.
