Do Superchargers = Bad MPG?

Do Superchargers = Bad MPG?
I'm really wanting to install a supercharger on my 04 GT but what can I expect my MPG to end up being? You know the price of gas is pretty high now so I'm just wondering what my MPG will be when I'm driving my car in a normal fashion, not driving it hard. Also, centrifugal superchargers like the Vortec and Prochargers, when do you really feel them kicking in when you're trying to go fast. I really would like to buy a supercharger that I can feel kicking in around 3500 RPMs.

It's only bad when you get on it. You could easily stay out of boost atound town and it won't have any significant impact. On the otherhand, I can almost garauntee that you'll have a lead foot after getting one. It's way too fun to mash the pedal.

If you drive the same way, you will not experience much of a loss if at all with a supercharger... But like posted above, just from having a friend who has one, it is soo much fun to get into boost, and that is when you loose mpg.

I got right at 20 MPG before my blower install (highway). I now get about 21.5 MPG, so I acutally picked up some mileage.
In town is another story though. Its hard to keep your foot out of it. The best MPG I have gotten in town so far was like 15 MPG.
