valve covers should come off tomorrow
Well I'm feeling ambitious, and got my mom and dad's car work done for today and tomorrow I think I'm gonna get up relativley early and tear my engine apart and replace the valve seals. I'm gonna borrow my mom's camera (and get some rubber gloves to keep hands clean) and try to make the best writeup possible for ya'll
lets hope I don't find anything unpleasant other than dirty oil in there

good luck on those valve covers they sure were a bitch to get off my 01. Just a tip for ya.
Remove fuel rail and all wiring around it.....will save u LOTS of trouble...
while your at it replace covers with BBK ones or VT's or whatever else....

RE: valve covers should come off tomorrow
yeah I would take off the fuel lines if they were really a problem. The 4.6L NPI engine may have less power but stuff is less of a PITA to work on. All I have to do is take the spark plug wires out of their looms and zip tie them to the fuel rail (away from the valve covers) and remove the strut tower bar and then disconnect the two fuel lines and keep those out of the way. I don't want to get into too much detail otherwise I'll end up making the writeup now haha
but I have looked at my engine and there is not much in my way
