I wouldnt buy a car with a s/c already on it.

1. It was probably beat to hell.
2. You don't get the gratification of doing it yourself.

But... the kb is a very nice charger.

but i read the 1.7 doesnt put out a ton of hp. In stories i have read about them, they put out over 400+ but that was on race gas at like 22 deg timing. That being said, i would love to have on too, just too much $$$.

I would check it out. Wouldn't worry too much about the car already having the blower on it myself. I guess it depends on what year the car is. I don't think I'd buy a car that has been using forced induction for more than 3-4 years. Those KB's are pretty nice.
What year is it?

Is it intercooled and what is the output (6 psi?). Intercooled KBs with the stock 6 psi are supposed to add 105 hp.

a properly setup (exhaust and intake botlons) 1.7L KB should easily make 400 to the tire on pump gas (93)

i have read about them quite a bit and have heard people complain that they get like 350-360 on like 9psi over at modular powerhouse forums.

it may not put out as much hp as a centrifical but will somtimes run better with the right setup. it hits full boost way lower. there is this guy gijoe on modularpowerhouse.com who has a novi 2000 that produces higher numbers then his kb setup he has now but his kb runs better times.
